Street, sidewalk and other related work associated with the East High Street Improvement Project in Jefferson City will continue this week.

As a result, the intersection of East High and Gordon streets will be closed.

This closure will begin at 7 a.m. Monday, and the intersection is anticipated to reopen by 6 p.m. Oct. 6, weather permitting.

Only Gordon Street cul-de-sac traffic will be able to access the intersection during this closure.

Also, East High Street between Riverside and Gordon streets will be closed to through traffic. This closure will begin at 7 a.m. Monday, and this portion of East High Street is anticipated to reopen in late October, weather permitting.

Other closures along East High between Locust and East McCarty streets will occur through the end of the year due to ongoing construction, according to a Jefferson City news release. At all times traffic should be able to access East Elementary School through the Riverside and East High and Benton and East High street intersections. Road closed and detour signs will be posted and moved with the active work zones.
